The amount of bruising is variable. I use a stick-on small hard plastic cast (or sometimes a soft gel cast) for a week, which I then remove. I do not use nasal packs nor splints (because they are very uncomfortable to have in, and painful to remove. I use internal dissolving sutures which are much more effective, they keep the nose stable for longer, and they avoid the discomfort/pain of packs.
